Fudgie Babies

Ingredients:

Yields = 30 balls (about 1 tablespoon or quarter size per ball)

  • 1.5 cup of dates
  • 1 cup of walnuts
  • 2 Tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • Optional Ingredients: 1/4-1/2 cup of unsweetened coconut flakes, 2-3 tablespoons of ground coffee beans (to add caffeine), and 1/2 tsp of salt (to add sodium, which is good on very long runs and hot days).

Directions:

  1. Warm the dates in the microwave for 2 minutes.
  2. Place the walnuts in the food processor until minced.
  3. Add the warm dates, cocoa powder and vanilla extract to the walnuts and process until all ingredients are mixed together well.
  4. Form the fudgie mixture into quarter/tablespoon balls.
